Uh oh!
I spoke too soon. I just opened that jar of peanut butter to make sure I hadn’t eaten any of it. I HAD. Shoot! That would have been right before I got sick. The first three or four days of the illness included all kinds of tummy troubles. The State Department of Health is having a doctor call me back so we can see where we need to go from here. My tummy has settled down considerably, but I’m still have a fierce headache & am running a low-grade fever. Have been for over a week. No health coverage. No doctor. Sure hope the state will be absorbing the cost of any tests they think need to be done in order to determine if the salmonella problem has appeared in Hawaii. I’m thinking they probably will, because this could have serious public health repercussions. Will update after I know what’s next.
Good update! The peanut butter from that batch has already been tested & given the all-clear by the state.
Not-terrific update: My symptoms seem to him likely to be Norwalk virus, which is hitting Hawaii pretty hard right now. Since I’m getting better, nothing to do but let it continue to pass.

Alexa Project…
The guys over at Payperpost, rather than using something like sitemeter’s api to determine traffic on the blogs that belong, for some reason use Google’s Page Rank and our Alexa scores. Google PR I can understand, but Alexa? So……

I hope you’re beginning to feel better.
My husband and I went through a very nasty couple of months with giardia lambia (a.k.a. “Beaver Fever”) last fall, so I could immediately empathasize with you looking in the peanut butter jar. Ours began with symptoms like yours - which suggest food poisoning - but they didn’t go away.
A virus can be nasty, but hopefully it has about run its course.
Isn’t the human body a marvel? One day you can be feeling fine and pleasantly enjoying nature’s wonders, and the next day nature can be having her way with you!

Norwalk is nasty because it hits you like a ton of bricks. Are you staying hydrated? Gatorade really is magical for that.

Glad you don’t have Salmonella. It sucks. I am starting to feel better from the same junk. Still a bit dehydrated, but it could be worse.

Because of my pre-existing gut problem, I battle dehydration constantly anyway. This last little while it’s much more of a problem as I just can’t seem to drink enough to keep it at bay. Temp is back to normal this evening, so I hope that will help make it a little easier to stay hydrated.

Peanut Butter is evil. Just the smell of it can make me sick. When I was a little kid if I wanted to stay home from school I would sneak a little peanut butter and it would me throw up and my mother would keep me home.
Good times.
Tricia sent me. I would dance for you, but it’s almost dinner time.

Is the Norwalk virus the one that people are bringing back from Vegas? Hope you’re feeling better soon! Thanks for stopping by!
