Self Portrait Sunday
I wanted to fall asleep over a book this afternoon. I’ve been working around the house and I’m tired and Sunday afternoons are for napping. As soon as I snuggled into my pillow I remembered. Ach! Sunday! Self portrait! I forgot to do a self-portrait and my friends will be soooooooo disappointed! With book and pillow still on my mind I pondered what to do. But of course! I could take the camera to the bedroom, get comfy, take the portrait, take a nap, do the post when I get up! Perfect. Then my conscience started nagging. “Hey you”, it said (I have a rude conscience,) “it’s pretty late in the day where your friends are. It’s barely even Sunday any more for them. Get up and make the post.” Stupid conscience.
So here’s your blasted picture.
I’m sorry if you can’t get it to load or if it’s so huge it takes up your whole screen. I know that’s what some of you have seen. I’ve struggled with it for weeks now, to the point of tears and wanting to throw my pretty new camera and the computer out the window. I’ve tried six different photo editing programs. It’s not likely that they are all broken. It’s much more likely that I’m an idiot and can’t figure them out. I give up. What you see is what you get.
Edit: So I figured out how to do it small here with the full-sized picture on flikr. now if that program would let me do multiple pictures in a post …
Now may I please go read my book?
If you’re not doing something urgently important right now (like trying to take a nap,) you can go see who else played today at Digi-Cass.

You know what I didn’t have, Skeet? You curious at all there? Let me tell you what I didn’t have. I didn’t have a shower. In fact, it’s been more days than I can admit to on the internets since I did have one. That wasn’t grump you saw, it was DIRT.
ROFL! Great pic, and I hope you did get your nap. I didn’t need one, since I slept in since I certainly can’t go anywhere in this condition.

Great picture!! You should’ve told your conscience that your friend Jennifer wouldn’t be posting her picture until Tuesday! *shock* It’s still on my camera waiting to be uploaded when I get home from work!

Great picture. I love reading in bed. Watching TV in bed. Sleeping in bed… okay, I love bed, and I love sleep.

Cass, sure am glad you finally got a plumber. The stress was starting to chip away at your usually-pleasant demeanor, lol! Hope you’ve had a nice, lathery hot shower by now! :0D

Whim, I was trying to read Nana I Ke Kumu (Look To The Source) Volume 1, by Pukui, et al. It is “a source book of Hawaiian cultural practices, concepts and beliefs which illustrate the wisdom and dignity contained in the cultural roots of every Hawaiian child.” I found myself distracted, though, and not giving it the attention it needed. I switched to buzzed by Michael Witheford instead, about a man whose only focus in life is getting on a quiz show. I’ll revisit the former when I’ve got less going on and can get more out of it.

Jennifer, I’m glad you finally remembered because your pics are great!

Cynthia, the nicest thing about not having enough work just lately is that I get to sneak in naps and books many afternoons, lol!

h8 - You know better than most that I will read anything that falls into my hands, rubbish or not. But, yeah, that looks like a winner I was trying to get into on Sunday. See my remarks above to Whim.
