FlikrCash

I’ve been taking a lot of photos since I got my new camera. Most of them I take with the express purpose of sharing them with you. I’ve had some difficulties with my software, so posting them has been frustrating, but now that I understand how easy it is to upload from Flikr to my blog that shouldn’t be a problem anymore. But guess what I found out today? Flikr will help me sell my photos! Since every photo I put on Flikr is marked public, and since I take a lot of pictures of scenery here in Hawaii I get a lot of strangers stopping in to browse. Now Flikr is set up to help buyers and sellers both. They’ve made it really easy to find what you’re looking for, too.

Say you wanted just the right photo to put in a card for Mother’s Day and you want to send her virtual flowers. Zow! Too many thousands of photos to browse through! If you’re using, say, and orange color scheme, you can narrow it down to “orange flowers.” Click the link and take a look at the Orange Flowers - found by FlickrCash. Over a thousand photos of orange flowers! If that’s still a little too overwhelming you can narrow your search parameters to roses or tropicals or whatever you’d like to see first. Flikr will even save your search so you can come right back to it if you have to interrupt your project. All photos are watermarked with the identity of the individual owner and protected under royalty free licenses based on Creative Commons, so you’ll get credit for your work if you’re the seller and if you’re buying you won’t have to worry about getting tripped up on legalities. If I decide I want to start attracting buyers, there’s even an installable light box where I can set up slide shows of my best work. FlikrCash has taken care of all the details to make it easy for everyone.

This is a very cool service and it’s Flikr so you know it’s reliable. Now I’ve just got to get out there and start honing my skills by taking lots of photos. Y’all won’t mind being my guinea pigs, will you?
