Self Portrait Sunday for May 6, 2007
My camera battery pack died yesterday and it was afternoon before I got to Radio Shack to pick up a new one. Maybe the look on my face reflects my reaction to paying $18.00 for two lithium batteries shrink-wrapped into a slide-in bundle. Trying to smile but feeling a little queasy. Go to DigiCass to see who else took their own portrait today.

Hopefully your new batteries will last a very long time! Good pic

Definitely will be looking around to find out what other batteries will work in the camera, Loretta! Mahalo for stopping in!

Great photograph!
I wish you hadn’t told the mundane back story, you could have left your readers wondering what monumental fraughtness was going on in your life. It’s like having the back story on the Mona Lisa (which I contend to be indigestion).

$18?! Here’s hoping those batteries have super powers!

Martin, I like the way the shadows frame me and highlight the wrinkles. As to my explanation for the expession, perhaps I was trying to distract my readers from deep thoughts about what was really on my mind.

Lisa, the ones that came with the camera lasted about six weeks. I’ve taken lots of photos almost every day, but still … $18.00?!

That’s a great photo! I’m glad you posted it for those readers who might have thought you looked like the man in your header graphic! LOL *ducking*

Great pic although you do look a little stunned. I suppose I would too if I had just payed that much for batteries.

You are braver than I would be. I do not face the camera any longer. LOL

Wow! That’s a crazy price for batteries. We bought a whole lot of rechargables and a charger because of the price of batteries.
I hope you don’t have to fork out for any more batteries any time soon!

Skeet, that is an amazing portrait. Someone else mentioned depth - so true! A beautiful photograph of a beautiful woman.

that actually sounds like a great deal on the batteries. Mine were about 40 dollars and I got them on a killer deal. I always search the web to find the best deal because I find that Radioshack and Bestbuy are usually overpriced but can give you the info that you need to find online

Skeet can you use rechargeable batteries with your camera? It took me a long time to discover that I could with my older digital camera. The price of the lithium batteries are crazy and they don’t last that much longer than a set of rechargeable batteries (on a new charge)do anyway, so if you can get rechargeable, and use them instead. You’ll save a lot of money in the long run!

Tricia, I bought a new camera case yesterday that came with a charger and four free batteries that I’m hoping will work in my camera. It’s a Kodak charger and battery set, so I’m hopefull. If it won’t work I’ll go shopping for one specifically for my model of Kodak.

Sorry for the delay in replying Svend. I didn’t shop online because I needed batteries that day, but I’ll be trying to be better prepared next time so I have the online option.
