Tuesday Teaser winner of monthly prize
I meant to do this yesterday, honest I did! I was totally oblivious to the date until I glanced at my date book as I was arriving at my first inspection site. There was nothing I could do about it right at that moment, but the day was young. I made a mental note to take care of it once I got home. And promptly forgot. I wrote up two inspction reports with the date in several places on each, but no bells went off to remind me. My qualified contestants are all used to clicking repeatedly on a site hoping for something new and wondrous to appear, so I hope they’ve forgiven me by now for giving them another reason to do it.
Here’s what I did when I finally rememberd a little while ago. Qualifiers’ names were written on paper, which was then cut into strips. Each strip was tightly folded and dropped into my favorite stoneware soup cup. I went next door, soup cup and camera in hand, to get the cute little girl who lives there to help with the drawing. She wasn’t home! She’s always home, so I don’t know why she suddenly had other places to be just when I needed her. Still, I’m quick and resourceful, so I went to Plan B. If you own dogs, you know that they absolutely must check out anything dropped on the floor (it might be food!) It’s a hot day and both of my boys were stretched out lethargically on the cool tile floor of the living room. I dropped the four little bundles, expecting instant results. Lance opened one eye, sniffed the air for the presence of delectable armoas and promptly went back to sleep. Buddy didn’t even peek. A new tactic was called for. (Picture a light bulb going off over my head.
) “Kitty, kitty, kitty! Where ’s the kitty?” Ah! That got an instantaneous reaction! Lance went tearing to the front door, baying in full throat. Buddy is deaf, but he must have felt the beagle bounciness in the floor, because he promptly joined Lance at the screen and added to the cacophony. They’re easy to fool but they’re not stupid. Seeing no feline invaders, they gave it up pretty quickly.
Before reclaiming his little spot on the tile, Lance wandered over to the paper slips to check them out, just in case. He walked around them, then selected one for closer investigation. A winner was quickly declared and even old Buddy gave approval when he saw the name.
Congratulations to Joana! I’ll be in touch about your prize. Mahalo to all who played and congrats again to my other weekly winners. Shall we continue with the madness of Tuesday Teasers in June?

Absolutely!! Even though I wasn’t even close to winning any of the weekly contests, I sure enjoyed trying. What a great concept, Skeet! (This one would be fun, even without prizes!)

Thank you skeet and thank you Lance for picking me! =D Ah, your doggy is adorable. I’d give him a treat if I could.
The Tuesday Teaser was definately fun and hopefully they’ll be more fun games to play again!

I enjoy your puzzles even if I do usually come in late, and that’s a great story about how you came up with the winner. Did you get my e-mail about tomorrow morning? I hope you’ll be able to join us!
