Charlotte’s Tips
Charlotte did a fine job of figuring out the Tuesday Teaser this week, but that comes as no surprise to anyone who knows her. She does a fine job of helping her readers get orgainzed and get going over at Charlotte’s Tips every day. Charlotte is a mom to three and a grandmom to - how many is it now? Four? What I do know is that three of the grandbabies belong to her daughter who is on active duty in Iraq and that a new little bundle of joy just arrived in April. I’m not envious! No, not me!
You’d think Charlotte would have her hands full with all the kidlets about, but she still finds time to do a lot of research and fill her blog with information we can all use. I’m an old-fashioned gal and grew up in a home without much money. Our primary cleaning supplies were baking soda, bleach, ammonia and vinegar. I can still remember how amazed we all were the first time we tried Formula 409 for getting grimey handprints off the walls, lol. I use all the latest cleaners now, but really appreciated Charlotte’s recent two-part post on the many uses for vinegar. Shouldn’t everyone know these things, just in case we ever run out of new and improved scented, anitbacterial cleaning supplies in eco-friendly, refillable pump bottles? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Charlotte also thoughtfully supplied her readers with links for the straight dope the next time the media tries to scare us to death with horror stories about product recalls. Y’all should bookmark that post so you’ll have all of that handy info in one place. I did! Oh, and make sure you bookmark her post about food stoarage while you’re at it. I take all of the canned goods out of my emergency supplies box every two years and turn it over to the food bank, but didn’t have a clue how long other types of food can be stored. Handy stuff to know!
Charlotte’s latest project is posting her grandmother’s favorite recipes. She’s already posted some I just can’t wait to try, so I’m looking forward to the ones we haven’t seen yet, too. Whether you’re salivating for an old-fashioned home-cooked meal or looking to debunk kitchen myths, you’ll find it at Charlotte’s place. There are useful tips on every page and handy advice scattered throughout, so get on over there and check it out!
