Bush’s anti-gay nominee for surgeon general

Who do you want in charge of establishing and implementing health care policies for the United States? Would you select a man who has demonstrated, in word and deed, that he has an extreme bias against a signifigant portion of the population? Dr. James Holsinger is a physician who supports anti-gay policies long condemned by the American Psychological Association and who has a record of allowing his prejudices to overshadow sound scientific judgement. I have communicated my displeasure with this nomination to my representatives in Washington. I hope you will do the same. I ask you to review the information provided by The Human Rights Campaign and decide if our president has preseneted a nominee that you want having a major influence in health care decisions for our nation. If you believe that Dr. Holsinger is unqualified for this high office, make your voice known. A simple form on the site will allow you to communicate your concerns to your own representatives. If you believe that human rights are for everyone, let your voice be heard. I hope you’ll also consider supporting the Human Rights Campaign with your own blog post and perhaps a donation that will assist them in continuing their efforts to insure equal rights for all.
