Senile musings?

I’ve joked about getting older in a few posts lately. I think a lot of us do that to take the sting out of aging. I’m pretty sure I really am losing brain cells at a more rapid rate than in the past, though. Yesterday was a case in point. I had specific instructions as to the location of the restaurant where my friends were meeting. I remembered that it was near Sears, inside the mall. I totally forgot that Banana Republic was another clue I’d been given. If I’d remembered that I’d have saved myself some extra walking. What’s really embarrassing is that, after getting directions at the information kiosk and making my way back to where I wanted to be, I saw one of those visit the directory here signs near the same door where I’d entered the mall. Once I found it I looked up and there was a sign for the restaurant right there, too, and I’d never noticed it!

After our meeting broke up I wanted to do a little shopping at a place I had passed while I was wandering around lost. I remembered exactly where it was, or so I thought. In my mind it was on the same level I was on, so I walked all the way to the center of the mall again, but it seemed to have moved in the hour or so since I’d seen it. I went back to the info kiosk and discoverd that it was one level up, lol! I swear there used to be a memory function that lived in my brain for more than a few hours. I guess it’s taken early retirment and I’m supposed to get along without it until the rest of me goes offline. :D
