Just Jayme

I’ve been doing the Tuesday Teaser photo puzzle for a couple of months now. I have a lot of fun with it, and it’s helped increase traffic to my blog, so that’s all good. The added benefit, which I didn’t anticipate but certainly should have, is the caliber of readers it’s attracted. People who enjoy puzzles tend to be thoughtful and intelligent. I’ve got nothing against the occasional empty-headed doofus coming around, but the thing I enjoy most about blogging is the conversational exchanges, which are much more rewarding when the comments come from people who actually have something to say. It remains to be seen whether I’ll be able to keep up with the recent influx of intelligent readers, but I already know I’ll enjoy the challenge.

One of my new, thoughtful readers is Jayme, who has been blogging for over four years at Just Jayme. She started coming around for the Tuesday Teasers and has become a regular contributor. Granted, her last comment was not terribly cerebral - “woohoo”, upon being told that she was the winner this week - but the gal has a lot to say and says it well. One would think that winning my contest would be the nicest thing that could happen to a person, but Jayme has bigger things to celebrate this week. Her bio notes that she has secondary infetility, so guessing a silly puzzle definitely takes a back seat to her positive pregnancy test. Congratulation to Jayme, Jason and Bailey on the coming family expansion!

Jayme is a school teacher, IMHO the most honorable of all professions. I also admire the ease with which she shares her personal life. When she has bad news to share she just puts it out there and asks for her readers’ support. That’s a skill I’d like to have and can perhaps learn from visiting her blog. I think everyone can only benefit from adding Jayme to their blogrolls and keeping up with her life. Go visit her and see if you don’t agree.
