Internet Pet Emporium

Buddy on couch

My poi dog Buddy is getting old. I try not to think too much about how old he is, but I know he doesn’t have a lot of years left. He was about three when I got him from the animal rescue center and he’s been with me for ten years, so he’s definietely in his senior years. I’ve always felt like I owed it to him to give him extra-special treatment because of the abuse he suffered before he was rescued. The end of the couch used to be his favorite spot, but he doesn’t jump up there anymore since his hip surgery. He’s on anti-inflammatories, but both hips still cause him pain and limit his movement. I know he’d spend most of his time on the couch if he could, so I’ve been thinking about getting some dog stairs just for him (I’m sure Lancie would enjoy them, too, but he doesn’t actually need them.) I really like the light-weight resin ones (below) which would be easy to move and to keep clean.

Ultra-Lite pet stairs

There are deluxe wooden ones available, too, for folks who want something different to match their decor. They’re all available from the Internet Pet Emporium, so you can compare them side-by-side and find the ones that will work best for your dog. Check out their other pet supplies while you’re over there. If you like to pamper your pets like I do, you’re sure to find something you like.

Dog den

You’ll notice in the picture of Buddy that I sometimes use his crate for an end table. That isn’t a decorating decision. Both of my boys have slept in their crates since they were pups, so I keep the crates where they can use them whenever they want. It never occurred to me to replace the crates with something a little more attractive, but these dog houses have me considering that option. The Bed and Breakfast model would be perfect for old Bud, and I could see Lance getting a lot of enjoyment out of the Room With a View. I have to admit, though, that I really like the Dog Den (pictured at left and on The Internet Pet Emporium home page) for entirely selfish reasons. How cool would it be to replace the boys old crates with real end tables they could sleep in?

The Internet Pet Emporium has stuff for you cat people and your furkids, too. Go check them out, then come tell me how you’d like to pamper your pet!

  1. That crate/end table is genius! Why didn’t I think of that?

Buddy is adorable, and lucky to have an owner who will buy stairs for him!
