Tuesday Teaser gift card winner for October
It’s Friday. I don’t have any field work scheduled so I woke up committed to working on the mess that is my office. I make that same committment almost every day and I suppose I’ll actually follow though eventually. Maybe not today,though. I putzed around a bit, visiting some new friends met through various groups at the NaBloPoMo site. Composed a few well-thought-out comments guaranteed to make them seek out skeet’s stuff and become addicted to my pithy wit. Answered a few comments here at the home front. Took a few annoying distracting much-appreciated phone calls from people who want to schedule inspections so I can keep the boys in kibble. Somehow it was suddenly noon and I hadn’t started on the office mess. I was still in my night clothes. One of those not-quite-a-dress, not-quite-a-muumuu, not-quite-a-nightie cotton knit, saggy, baggy creations that are so comfortable but you hope you won’t be caught dead in them. I took a shower and put on some saggy, baggy, hope-I’m-not-caught-dead-in-them shorts and a tee shirt that’s a perfect match, accepting as a given that I won’t be leaving the house today and I don’t want to do office work but I really need to do something to redeem myself so that I don’t feel that the day has been a total waste. Decided I could do the prize drawing for October, but I’ve made it my habit to let someone else do the drawing so you’d all know I’ve kept it honest. I really don’t want to put on reputable clothes and a bra and go out to look for an unbiased third party, though, so I decided y’all don’t care if I can prove I’m honest, you just care that I make it fun. So here you go, something a little different and a little fun and a lot honest, but you’ll have to take my word for that last part.
I thought I remembered having one of my son’s hacky-sacks in my little game collection. I thought I could line the names up on the floor, toss the hacky-sack over my shoulder and declare a winner by whose name was closest to its landing. Hmmmm! No hacky-sack! Did I dream that? Several super-balls, but how would I manage to spin around fast enough to capture a bounce-selected winner with my camera? Scratch that idea. But puzzles - yeah, those little foam puzzle cubes show some promise. There were five Tuesdays in October, but I stumped y’all twice, so there are just three winners contending for the gift card drawing spots. There are enough puzzle cubes to make it work. I assigned a different color to each contestant and removed one piece from each cube.
Not having any Dixie Cups available, I upended a coffee mug over each of the puzzle pieces. Shuffled the mugs. Four times. Took a break and made a fresh glass of iced tea. Shuffled the mugs four more times. Took a potty break (too much iced tea.) Shuffled again. Took another phone call, then returned and removed one mug.

Okay, so it’s not a Patek Philippe watch, but ten bucks is ten bucks. Be grateful! Ask me nice and pay the shipping and I’ll send you all of the leftover Halloween candy out of the rattan pumpkin.
