Amazing Blogger Award
My friend Val who blogs over at I know EVERYTHING - just ask my hubby (don’t you love her blog name?) has been kind enough to honor me with an Amazing Blogger Award in recognition of my new weekly feature, Share Some Good Stuff, in which I ask my readers to share good news from their own communities. Mahalo and a hat tip, Val! I really appreciate it!
Part of the fun of getting a blogging award is selecting someone to pass it on to. I’ve thought about it for a few days now. It’s hard to choose because I know many bloggers who are amazing in various ways. I’ve finally made a decision, though. Most of the awards I’ve passed on before have gone to folks within a specific group of bloggers with whom I have an ongoing relationship. I don’t want to imply that any of them are not worthy of an Amazing Blogger Award. They are, and that’s why they will eventually get this award too. (It’s making the rounds, folks. You know who you are and it WILL get to you, I’m sure.) This time, though, I’m reaching outside that group to recognize a few Hawaii bloggers. Yeah, it’s an arbitrary decision, but whatcha gonna do?
I’ve known Flo for a few months now and enjoy reading her original blog, which is mostly full of energy and enthusiasm because Flo runs and works out. Makes me tired just reading her most of the time, to tell the truth, but it also nudges me a little closer to taking a little better care of myself. Flo has a newer blog that I’m just discovering and I’m liking all that I’ve found. At The Ones Who Get Screwed she takes on politics and various acts of public outrage. She does it well. She’s not always right, but it’s her blog and she’s entitled to have an opinion different from my own as long as she keeps it over there. 
Evelyn over at Homespun Honolulu created and runs the Carnival of Aloha. While most of her blogging is Honolulu-centric, she also has things to say about other places around the state. She writes well and has been instrumental in widening my circle of local bloggers. I’m forever in her debt for that.
I first found Lynn’s blog through the Carnival of Aloha. Lynn, aka: Auntie Pupule speaks da kine - Hawaiian pidgin - on her blog, the same musical language I hear throughout my own community on the Waianae Coast. She’s a community activist and has a heart too big to be contained in one body, but she manages anyway. You’ll be hearing more from me soon about one of her current projects. Until I get around to that, go scope out Auntie Pupule.com. You’ll like what you find, I guarantee it!
