Share Some Good Stuff!
Sometimes we get so overwhelmed with the bad news that we forget that there are good things going on around us all the time. We can’t change the headlines, but we can seek out that which is good, that which is uplifting, that which shines with a positive radiance - the good stuff. Here’s some recent feel-great stories:
Corrin found a wonderful story about a man who was rescued by dolphins. You cannot read this and not smile!
Leigh #1 shared four different stories that will restore your faith in humanity. People serve us all in quiet acts every day, so quiet we sometimes fail to notice.
Val wants us to know about an amazing athlete who is an inspiration to anyone facing challenges. Way to go, Emily!
Leigh #2 found out that not all cheerleaders are stuck-up snobs. These cheerleaders with heart have smashed that myth!
I found a heart-warming story and an opportunity for all of us to help some children have a fun holiday with some simple rubber slippahs. There’s all kinds of other good stuff around me, though, so I’ve also shared some good stuff around the island.
There’s good stuff going on in your part of the world, too, I guarantee it. You might have to dig to find the good news buried behind the stories about falling stock prices, war and mayhem, but it’s worth it. Give yourself a break and go find out what’s right with your world!

Mahalo to YOU for participating, Leigh! We can choose what we expose oursleves to. A healthy does of good stuff to balance the rest of the news does wonders for perspective, don’t you think?

My son’s school is always organizing some good stuff. They collect canned goods for the local food bank each winter and used school uniforms every summer.
Right now, they are selling Pierre Pigs and Thibodeaux Turkeys (beanies) for $25 each. With each purchase, a real ham or turkey donation will be made to a needy family.
One of the teachers at the school has a son in the army. His unit is living in tents and sleeping on the ground. The PTA president told me yesterday that she was thinking of “adopting” this unit. That would mean that we’d be collecting things for them as well. They asked for things like ramen noodles, instant hot cocoa, cooking untensils, etc. I think it’s a great idea!

There really is good stuff around us, Ann. We get so overwhlemed with the not-so-good that we don’t always notice it, though. Mahalo for sharing yours!
Now, isntead of giving it to me as a comment next time, are you going to do a blog post & send me the link? I do the link-up on Thursday, but you can send any good-news post that you’ve done during the previous week. I’d love to include you next time!
