Revamping The Good Stuff
Don’t you hate it when you have a great idea and no one else is impressed? I’ve been running Share the Good Stuff on my blog for a couple of months now. Your support has been underwhelming. Nope - not blaming you. I think the idea is solid and has some appeal to my readers, but that I’ve executed it poorly. I’ve expected you to wade through all of the nasty front-page news to dig out uplifting stories from your own communities. It has sometimes taken me hours of research to find my own contributions to the project, so it’s not surprising that many of you have had better things to do with your time. That’s why I put Good Stuff on hold for a few weeks and am now re-introducing it in a more user-friendly format that I hope you’ll enjoy.
Here’s the new deal:
Write a post on your blog about some Good Stuff. Send it to me. I’ll do a roundup post every Thursday and give each contributor a mention and a linkback.
Wait a minute! Isn’t that exactly how the failed project worked?
Patience, Grasshopper! An explanation is coming!
Good Stuff has been redefined. Your post may be about a good news story from local media sources as in the past, but there’s more good news than that waiting to be shared. Pick a news source anywhere in the world, or, better yet, share a heart-warming first-person moment that made you smile. Did your youngest just bake a cake without parental interference? Did the smelly guy on the bus finally get a clue and clean up his act? Maybe your neighbor’s nut tree is hanging over your back fence and giving you all the free pecans you could ever want. Those little day-to-day moments that make us smile are the stuff of a happy life and worthy of sharing. Here’s your chance to recognize them for what they are and spread a little sunshine in the process.
The New and Improved Share the Good Stuff will kick off this Thursday. You’ve been meaning to liven up your blog with a few extra smiles anyway, haven’t you? Write ‘em up and email the link(s) to me. Let’s make it work!

Welcome, Ady! I hope you’ll come back often. Why not look for some Good Stuff of your own and write about it? I’d be happy to include a link to your post in the meme!

Patience grasshopper! LOL! I loved that — a good chuckle first thing in the morning! Are we dating ourselves? I used to love that show. Tsk!
I need to shift back over to happy… I have too much angry stuff going on right now. Maybe next week!

Keep looking for The Good Stuff, Evelyn. It’s out there, but sometimes you have to go on the hunt to find it.
