Self Portrait Sunday for February 3, 2008

If it’s Sunday I must be late! I did housework and laundry and blogging stuff this morning. Shortly after lunch time I got a call from a high school/sorority friend that I haven’t seen in years. We found each other recently through one of the reunion websites. She and her hubby will be in Hawaii next month and I’m very much looking forward to spending time with her and meeting the guy who makes her heart sing. Back to the phone call, though. We talked about the old days and school and parties and all of the things we used to get away with, then started on our current lives. She told me about her kids and grandkids (color me green!) and her home and job. She and hubby have traveled to all fifty states and been to Hawaii several times and even to Branson lots of times. I told her about my dull life and before we knew it we’d been talking for around three hours. Oooops! A friend is supposed to come over and watch Masterpiece Theatre with me and I hadn’t started the side-dishes I wanted to serve with the pork roast she planned to bring.

And another oops! I hadn’t done a self portrait yet either. I squeezed it in between the prep for the potatoes, green beans and mushrooms. I used my timer this time so I could step away from the camera, but wouldn’t you know it didn’t take the first time. (Bonus shot!) I finished my prep work just as my friend called. It’s storming up at her place and one of her dogs is having nervous caniptions and would I mind if we got together some other time. Pressure’s off! I have time to do a Self Portait Sunday post and then go to Digi-Cass to see who else played and visit them, too! Did you play today? You should, you know. It’s a fun thing to do and we’d love to see your smiling face!

    1. I see Tupperware canisters…

    2. I spotted the tupperware too LOL, but mostly I was noticing the apron. I decided I want one, and now I see them everywhere I go!

    3. You’re kitchen looks wonderful :) I love the pictures on your fridge.

    4. your kitchen walls are pink (in case you didn’t know :-))! How fabulous!

    5. Great pic and neat kitchen!

I think it’s cool that you get to meet up with your old friend next month. :-)

    6. Yep, my trusty old Tupperare canister are on display, Tina!

    7. Jennifer, I buy my aprons in the craft and hobby shops (or the hobby aisle at WalMart.) Crafty people buy them to decorate, but I use them as is. They’re inexpensive and all-cotton so they wash easy.

    8. Ami-chan, most of the photos on my fridge have been there for over then years. I really need to update! :D

    9. Corrin, my kitchen, dining room, living room and hall all flow into each other so they’re all pink. They’ll all be terra cotta someday, if I ever get around to repainting. Do you think that paint that’s been in it’s orginal 5-gallon bucket in my shed for three or four years is still usable? :D

    10. I’m really excited about seeing my old school friend, Whim. We’re thinking I may fly to the Big Island and spend a whole day with her there, rather than just two hours in an airpot coffee shop during her layover.

    11. A woman who cooks. I think I’m in love!

    12. You’ve always loved me, darlin’ Cass, and I’m sure you would even if I couldn’t boil water!

Sorry about missing last Sunday. The day got away from me and I’m still playing catch-up! :D
