Self Portrait Sunday for March 9, 2008
Yesterday I got Hokulele’s insides all cleaned up. I work out of my car so it gets pretty cluttery. I took out stuff that didn’t need to be there - paid bills and scribbled notes, extra water bottles, a too-full trash bin - then vacuumed, sprayed the upholstery with Febreze and wiped down the dash and door panels. Didn’t do the windows, but - oh well. I also took so long cleaning inside the car that I missed the chance to go cruising for one of the many fund-raiser car washes that are available up and down the coast each Saturday, so I tackled Hokulele’s exterior today. I got her all shiny-clean and even remembered to use the tire foam and follow up with tire dressing. She looks pretty good. I really don’t miss the “perk” of having a company vehicle to take care of. For almost twenty years I had to wash my commercial vehicle each week and clean the truck tool boxes, tanks and equipment. Nope, don’t miss that at all, though the extra storage space for my clutter wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Today you get a two-fer.
I had a bucket full of suds, some wet rags and a hose at hand, so I hauled the dog crates outside and washed them, too. I only need one crate inside now, anyway, so it was time to do it. Besides, I’d already taken a picture which demonstrate that I can still hold my own in a wet tee-shirt contest. It just made sense to show off my butt, too.
