Self Portrait Sunday for Easter, March 23, 2008

    Bubbles and duck

One of the nice things about holidays is that we can give ourselves permission to slow down and relax. I did. I soaked and read until the water got cold, then I drained some of it away, added more hot water and soaked and read some more, maybe an hour in total. It’s a little luxury I don’t indulge in very often. I don’t usually have the time, and besides, it’s very wasteful of water and the gas that heats it. I probably undid at least a week’s worth of conservation with that one bath. I’ll be more frugal with natural resources in days to come and maybe go out of my way to buy more green products to try to make up for it. Sometimes, though, you just have to treat yourself to something nice.

My friend is off-island, so I’m headed over to her place to water her plants, feed her fish and bring in her mail. When I get back I’ll be visiting Midlife Musings to see the rest of the lovely self portraits for this beautfiul Easter Sunday.

    1. Oh my! It’s a little warm in here… ;) And I’m very jealous of your bath. My bathtub here is not good for baths, I miss them!

    2. Jennifer, I had to replace my tub a few years ago. The new one is about four inches narrower than what used to be the standard. I feel like I’m all elbows and knees when I’m in it, grrrrr! :(

    3. Oh Skeet, very risque!! I love your friend :)

    4. Yeah, Flo, I’m sure people everywhere are getting off to my wet, sudsy old-lady knee, bwaaa-ha-ha!

I made the mistake of letting my sis know that I have a rubber duckie bathroom. Now she sends a dozen or more for every birthday and Christmas, lol! :D

    5. LMAO– Skeet! That is fabulous! :) It makes me wanna sing, “Rubber Ducky, you’re the one… you make bath time lots of fun. Rubber Ducky I’m… so in love with you!”

    6. Oh, that’s great. I love it. I miss relaxing in the tub, but I haven’t been comfortable in a tub since before I was pregnant.

    7. Aha! That’s what was missing, Laurie - I didn’t have anyone to sing for me. :D :D :D

    8. Hm. Wonder why that is, Ami-chan. I enjoy a tub soak every now and then, even in a skinny tub! :D

    9. woohoooo be still my heart.

    10. Hubba hubba!

    11. Great pic. :-D

Looks like you have a huge tub.

    12. Don’t go getting all excited Denise. It’s just a knee! :D

    13. Notice how I varied the angle this week Corrin? :D

    14. It’s a standard-length tub, Whim, and a little narrower than older models. I’d love to have a huge tub - maybe an old lion-foot one! :D

    15. Sek-say! And my “top” was a dress, so it looks likt that all the way to my knees :)

    16. All I can hear is the ZZ Top song -
      “She’s got legs
She knows how to use them”

    17. I actually got some porn searches from showing my knee in the bubble bath, Cass. I didn’t think it was sexy when I posted, but I guess it was suggestive to folks of a certain mindset. :D

    18. Val, back when I was a young waitress my customers nicknamed me “Legs.” Um … not so much anymore. :D
