Self Portrait Sunday for April, no, um - MAY 4, 2008

    Me & Maggie Rose2

I love this picture. It’s what I was born to do. I’ve often said that I should have married a farmer at seventeen and stayed barefoot and pregnant for the next couple of decades, tending children and livestock and crops. Life didn’t work out that way, so I content myself with borrowing other peoples’ babies when the opportunities arise. That’s Maggie Rose, and you can see more of her in my post yesterday about our Table of Contents luncheon.

I had to take benadryl last night, so I overslept this morning. As soon as I finish this post I’m going to climb on the carport roof for a minor patching job, get a couple of new plants in the ground, then shower and get over to my friend’s place to help her host an open house. I’m going to try very hard to get myself organized enough to visit all of the other Self Portriat Sunday participants when I get home. I’ve been sadly remiss in my visits just lately, but I’m working on getting back in step. I’ve got some ribs marinating to go with fresh corn and potatoes cooked in crab boil tonight. I don’t have any Chevy grills, so I’ll have to use my old propane grill for the ribs. There will be garlic bread, too. Wanna join us?

    5. What a total cutie!

Hope you saved me some ribs and garlic bread!

    6. Skeet, you do look happy holding that baby. I tend to shy away from babies. I find them terribly cute from a distance :)

    7. What a great picture! There’s nothing like holding and loving on babies.

    8. You’re a natural! Sweet pic!

    9. Now that brings a smile to my face. Great pic!

    10. I would love to join you. Sounds delicious!
I love the picture of you holding the baby. We have our first grandbaby. He’s nearly nine months old and so precious. There’s nothing sweeter than holding a baby!
