Self Portrait Sunday for June 1, 2008
I tried really, really hard to get a picture of me & Lance together. Did you ever try to get a beagle to pose prettily for a picture? Next to impossible! I’ve got great pictures of Lance, but they were all taken without his cooperation. If I try to pose him or position him within a frame, chances are I’m not going to get a shot. He wiggles. He prances. He turns around and walks away so I end up with a picture of his backside. Taking a picture of the two of us together, while one of my hands is holding a camera? Okay, I’ll try that. I did try that. Again and again and again. About twenty times. Did I get a picture that’s usable for Self Portrait Sunday? You be the judge:
Lance has a very limited vocabulary. He knows: hungry, come, go, no, let’s go to bed, let’s cuddle and a few other words and phrases. Rub face is a favorite. Rub face is a game we adapted from the way he plays with Gwen when she visits - they rub their faces together. So Lance and I rub faces sometimes and it’s a fun, sweet thing that we both enjoy. I thought it might make a nice self portrait. Ha! Today he did not want to play by the rules. There’s really only one rule. He may not put his tongue in my mouth. Is that too much to ask? I know where that tongue has been. He can kiss me, all over my face, but he must not put his tongue in my mouth. That’s all I ask.
Now I’m going to wander over to Midlife Musings to see who else took a self portrait today. I’ve already taken a peek and I must say I’m liking Cass’s new do! Wonder how many tries it took her to get such a great shot?

Haha, it looks like my attempts when I decide to take a picture with one of the cats. Notice that those never get posted? lol I should’ve included the rejects from the Killian and Aunt Jennifer photo shoot!

Those are absolutely adorable! You can see the love you both have for each other in those. There’s nothing like a faithful, loyal furbaby! (And no, it’s not too much to ask you don’t get a slip of the tongue by the pooch!)
