Tuesday Teaser for July 15, 2008

Can you identify the item depicted above? Take your best guess and post it in the comments below. If your guess wins, you’ll get a nifty prize. Here’s how it works:

1. Write a comment giving your guess as to what the item is. Be as specific as you can. A table is too vague - a clamp on a card table leg is specific. Sometimes the brand will need to be specific, as when you identified the Enregizer Bunny. Maybe someday I’ll do Ecco shoes, which are quite distinctive, so you’d need to be that detailed in your answer. Guess as many times as you want, but put each answer in a separate comment, please!
2. First person to identify the item wins. If more than one person provides the correct answer, time and date stamp will determine who was first.
3. The author of this blog will be the sole judge as to what constitutes a correct answer. Sorry - no hints will be given. I will attempt to respond to your answers at least every few hours, but I am not continuously at the keyboard so please be patient.
4. The contest will end in forty-eight hours, whether or not a correct guess has been submitted.
5. Skeet’s Stuff is a do-follow blog, so you get some link value just for commenting.

What will you win?

1. The author of this blog will write a LINKY LOVE POST (review) about the winner’s blog (commercial sites ineligible.) The LLP will contain the url for your blog plus at least two deep links and will be posted here on Skeet’s Stuff, a PR4 PR2 PR0 (bah google!) Ha! PR3 blog. Skeet writes good reviews. ;)
2. The weekly winners will be entered into a monthly drawing for a $10.00 gift card from Starbucks or Amazon or a ten dollar payment through PayPal.
3. Drawing for the monthly prize will be held on or about August 1, 2008, and will include all weekly winners for the month. There are five Tuesdays in July, thus the maximum number of people who will be eligble is five.

Comments submitted with commercial links will be deleted. If you would like to market your product, service or website through skeet’s stuff I’ll be happy to discuss your needs and my prices. Please submit your request via email.

  7. Not a stained glass window, Gina. Keep trying!

  8. Not a window frame, picture frames or a screen door, Jillybean. Take a closer look!

  9. Not two monitors, Ami-chan! Look again!

  10. Not an aquarioum, Jade. Keep trying!

No, you didn’t miss the drawing for last month. I’m senile and keep forgetting to take the magic mug with me when I go out. Now that my cable connection seems to be stable I need to catch up on some online stuff, but I’ll try to get the drawing done later today. Mahalo for the reminder!

  11. Slot machines?

  12. Hee! Not slot machines, Lisa. Take a real close look and guess again!

  13. Car door?

  14. Is it the Microsoft Windows Logo?

  15. i’d say it’s similar to last week’s item. a display with a photo of swimming pool or ocean water on the right and a brand logo (maybe a sunscreen logo) on the left?

  16. I KNOW WHAT IT IS!! LOL!! Its me meatjun/chickatsu hehehe See you laters

  17. Not a car door, Jillybean! Keep trying!

  18. Not a Windows logo, Gina, but I can kinda see the resemblance. Keep plugging away at it!

  19. You’re a creative thinker, Kay Lin, but that’s not the right answer. Keep staring until your eyes cross and maybe you’ll see it!

  20. Aloha Meat Jun! I was wondering if you & Mom would show up, lol!

Folks, I’m really excited to see this visitor, but I can’t tell you why until the puzzle is solved. Stand by! :D

  21. flag?

  22. shirt?

  23. It’s not a flag or a shirt, Lisa. Keep trying!

  24. A zipper, a quilt, an apron, an art gallery display?

  25. It’s not a zipper, a quilt, an apron or an art gallery display, Elizabeth, but I like the way you think! Keep trying, but put each guess in a separate comment, please! (I accidently deleted that from the rules when I edited them last month, but it’s back now.)

  26. Is it a beach towel?

  27. Is it a kite?

  28. It’s not a beach towel or a kite, Elizabeth, but I love it when someone new jumps right into the spirit of the thing! Keep trying!

  29. how about a puzzle piece? this is hard.

  30. No additional puzzle pieces, Elizabeth, but I’ll tell you what more experienced players already know: the item is always something common that you’ve seen many times before. The kind of thing that will have you slappinng your forehead and going “DOH!” when you realize what it is.

  31. Digital camera?

  32. A security device for a VPN client.

  33. The clip on a life preserver / personal flotation device.

  34. Movie posters?

  35. a photo screen?

  36. an umbrella?

  37. Is it something Meat Jun is holding?

  38. Is it a sail?

  39. Some kind of purse, tote or bag?

  40. a zipper pull?

  41. Sarah, it’s not a camera or a “security device for a VPN client.” What does that mean, anyway? :D

  42. Oops! Sorry Sarah - not a clip on a life preserver, either.

  43. Not a movie poster, Gabrielle. Keep trying!

  44. Sorry Gina - not a photo screen. Try again!

  45. Sorry Val - not an umbrella, a sail, a purse or tote. Meat Jun knows what it is, but not because she was holding it, lol! Keep trying!

  46. Not a zipper pull, JMom. Keep trying!

  47. A calculator?

  48. A terminal screen?

  49. A puzzle game… oh I don’t know what the name is,… the pieces move around in a square and you have to strategically move them into place to create the larger photo.

  50. Rubik’s Cube?

  51. Credit Card Machine?

  52. post-its?

  53. A funky lamp?

  54. Laura, it’s not a calculator, a terminal screen, one of those sliding-piece puzzles that I don’t know the name of either, a Rubik’s Cube or a credit card machine. Seven hours to go, so keep trying!

  55. It’s not Post-Its, Elizabeth. Don’t give up!

  56. Sorry Whim - not a funky lamp! Keep trying!

  57. I think you’ve stumped us again Skeet!

  58. Oh, I dunno — the electric cord coming out of the side of a lava lamp!

  59. Seems that way, Gina. I thought it was hard but solvable. the answer post will be up shortly.

  60. Oh, I miss my lava lamp, Tammie. I don’t have any pictures of it, though, and that’s not the answer to the puzzle. Look for the answer post soon.
