Four Foods on Friday #53
It’s been about a month since I’ve participated in Four Foods on Friday. Sorry about that. My whole life is in upheaval right now. I’ll try to do better in the future. Here are the four questions for this week, along with my answers:
#1. What kind of pretzels are your favorite?
I haven’t had a pretzel in years, but if there were a place nearby that had those big, soft ones I’d probably have at least one a day.
#2. What’s your favorite way to eat pancakes?
Ah! Now we’re talking! I love coconut pancakes. Mix up your regular batter, throw in a good-sized handful of shredded coconut and a splash of coconut extract. When they’re done sprinkle with toasted coconut and, of course, serve with coconut syrup. Delish!
#3. Do you make garlic bread from scratch or buy frozen?
If it’s just me (it usually is) I use the frozen kind that takes all the work out of it. If I’m serving guests I make from scratch.
#4. Share a recipe that calls for mozzarella cheese.
Ack! Dont have one. I like mozzerella sticks for snacking. The recipe is easy - follow the directions on the package. I’m thinking it would be fun to try to make them from scratch though: season some panko breadcrumbs, add a little flour for stick-to-itness, roll mozzerella sticks in them and toast. That sounds about right, don’t you think? Serve with several kinds of dipping sauce - I like ranch, marinara and barbecue.

Mm, I like the sound of those coconut pancakes. The only ones I’ve had with coconut in them are like a foldover with corn, peanuts and shredded coconut. Not as coconuty as yours though.

Oh, those coconut pancakes sound amazing! I would probably through in some mini chocolate chips as well. I don’t think they’d even need syrup.

Well now I keep shredded coconut on hand just not the extract, gonna have to get some to try this because I love coconut stuff. I mean I do live in the south after all lol and if you watched food network yesterday Bobby Flay had a throwdown with Robert Carter, one of our chefs down here with a coconut cake to die for. Ya’ll come on down

I’ve never heard of coconut pancakes! But that could be because I’m not a fan of coconut.

Yummm. Too bad hubby doesn’t like coconut cuz he is the cook in this house. It sounds really good though.

Mmmm, the mozzerella sticks sound good. My daughter loves them but I have never made them from scratch. I usually get the frozen kind. I’ll have to try them.

I’ve never heard of coconut pancakes either. Our son would probably really like those!
