Self Portrait Sunday for November 2, 2008
Lazy day today. I woke at about four, as I have most days lately (yesterday I was wide awake at 3 a.m.) I did my roots right after I finished my coffee, then settled in with a book I’ve been wandering through for the last week. I finished it about the time the sun came up, then picked up The Pilot’s Wife by Anita Shreve. I’ve had the book around for several years and thought I had read it already. Must have been confusing it with something else, though, because it was all new to me. The rest of the day was spent reading and napping. I can’t remember the last time I did that. I also can’t remember the last time I read a whole book in one day. I’ve fallen into the habit of reading in bits and pieces, but today I consumed The Pilot’s Wife from cover to cover. I finished it about an hour ago and did a little finish work on the kitchen cabinets to assuage my guilt over the wasted day. Tomorrow it will be back to the grind, but it was good to just relax for one day.
Check out Self Portrait Sunday over at Midlife Musings to see how some of my pals spent their day today. I’m guessing most of them were a bit more productive than I was.

Productivity is overrated.

I second that.
Sometimes you just need a day to relax, especially with all the work you’ve been doing lately!

Considering all that you’ve been doing lately I think it was a well-deserved “lazy” day for you!

Dang. Totally jealous of spending a day with a book.

Glad you enjoyed your day of reading. Hoping that I will get back into reading when I retire.
