Tuesday Teaser photo verification
Y’all were all over and under and around the correct answer this week, but never actully on it. You knew you were seeing fabric and some bracing or framework, so you were just an intuitive step away from seeing an umbrella! Don’t despair, though - I’m usually much easier to figure out. Come back next Tuesday when I’ll try to stump you with a new Tuesday Teaser and you’ll probably make me feel rather foolish by shutting me down as soon as I post the picture. Mahalo to you all for playing. A special thanks to all the new players and to those of you who have been spreading the word so new folks could find me!

Can you identify the item depicted above? Take your best guess and post it in the comments below. If your guess wins, you’ll get a nifty prize. Here’s how it works:

We have another first-time winner this week folks. I stumped some of you, but Gina knew it was the latch on the door of a truck or van. She’s won a linky love post and will be entered in the drawing for a gift card at the end of June. Congratulations Gina!

Tuesday Teaser photo verification
I’ve been discovering the joys of win32/glenwiry.p virus since last night. As you can see from the commentary (if you go to the link,) there’s a lot of confusion about what it can and can’t do. In my case what it can do is keep Windows from recognizing installed software, open and close various programs spontaneously and cause all kinds of other havoc. I apparently got it from an infected website, thought who knows which one. There’s no indication that it spreads by email, but if you’re in my hawaii.rr.com mailbox, run your antivirus just to be sure.
Now that I’m back online - we have a Tuesday Teaser winner. Once again Jennifer was the first to solve the puzzle. Um, Jennifer - I was almost caught up with linky love for you. I only owed you two more posts, but didn’t want to do them too close together. Hmmmmm -maybe I should just start doing weekly updates on your blogs since you win so often. Or maybe you could create a whole stable of new blogs so I’ll plenty to choose from!

Tuesday Teaser photo verification
Remember a few months back when several of my blogging buddies won a stand mixer and at least one of them had a contest to give one away? What you see above is my reason for hoping so fervently that I would win one for myself. My trusty old Betty G hand mixer has been with me for about thirty years. It’s not fancy, but it’s reliable. How many birthday cakes has it helped me make over the years? How many Thanksgiving dinners has it helped me prepare? These days we buy a counter-top appliance and expect it to last two or three years before a replacement is needed. My poor old coffee maker will be on the junk heap soon, and it’s about three years old. I’m adding daily to the mountains of stuff that I’m stockpiling for a grage sale, but I generally hang onto things that work, so I guess old Betty G will remain with me for a while. Oh, I’d replace her without a backward glance if a multi-function, all-the-bells-and-whistles stand mixer were to come my way, but barring that I can’t see any reason to get rid of her. She’s got the franchise on reliability. Gah! I think I’ve turned into my parents, but I have to say it: they just don’t make ‘em like they used to!
No winner this week, folks. That means the winner next week will get two linky-love prizes and will be entered twice in the monthly drawing for a ten dollar gift card. Tuesday Teaser photo verification
Darn it all! I just can’t seem to make a puzzle challenging enough to stump everyone for more than a few hours these days. Jade was the first to squint just right while staring at the photo clue and guessed that it was part of a lamp shade. Congrats Jade! You didn’t give a link to a blog - is this the same Jade I know from a certain message board, or an entirely new friend? Either way, Jade has won a linky-love review of the site of her choice (within the confines of my totally arbitrary limitations, which appear in the Tuesday Teaser rules.) Edit: Confirmed which Jade and then forgot to come back and add the blog link that day. Sorry!
