Tuesday Teaser gift card winner for November

I have some new neighbors living across the street. One of them is an old/new neighbor. She was a small child who lived behind me when I first came to the island. She’s a grown twenty-something now and I saw her outside a while ago with two junior members of the household (I think they are her niece and nephew.) That seemed like a perfect opportunity for a prize drawing!

Jadalynn and Jordan were a little suspicious of me at first, but more than willing to help me out since they had family members standing nearby.

Jadalynn held the magic mug while Jordan drew out the winning name. They both took the responsibility quite seriously.

Jadalynn beamed and Jordan almost let a smile loose when their duty was done. Tuesday Teaser photo verification

Sorry for the delay in providing the Tuesday Teaser answer, folks. Paul pulled the stove out into the middle of the kitchen floor right before he left yesterday. I scrubbed the walls, waited for them to dry, then did two coats of paint. While I was waiting for the walls to dry I scrubbed the sides of the stove, dusted the cobwebs off of the back and pulled out some mousy nesting stuff from the void at the bottom of the back. (The stove fits so tightly into its space that the oven door makes marks on the wall when I open it, so the blasted thing hasn’t been moved since it was installed the week that I bought the house almost fifteen years ago. Nasty back there!) When the walls were dry I ripped out the three layers of old flooring, cleaned up the mess and installed the new floor. It was about ten last night when I finished. I came back here to the office to do a sponsored post that was due before midnight and promptly fell asleep in my desk chair! I woke up around two this morning and did the post, but didn’t even think about the Tuesday Teaser.

I think many of our regular players are busy with shopping and baking and all the family busy-ness of the holidays because we didn’t get many entries to the contest this week. None of them were right. Several of you thought the photo snippet depicted some kind of bottle, but that’s as close as anyone got. Paul doesn’t have a place to hook up a computer these days so he gave me all of his Coke bottle caps and asked me to enter them in the MyRewards program for him. You’re only allowed to enter ten a day and I’ve forgotten to do it for the last several days, so I’ve still got a whole slew of them to enter. I thought they made an interesting picture and sort of thought someone would guess right away, but I never really know how you’ll react to my little photo clues. No winner this week. Make sure you check back next week and perhaps we’ll have a meeting of the minds!

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

I always save my old glasses when I get new ones. The most recent pair stays handy so I can find them if I break or lose the ones I wear daily. The rest get tossed amongst my clutter, destined to go to the Lions Club Eyeglass Recycling Program. I’m the world’s worst procrastinator, so I have several pair that were gathering dust in my old rolltop desk. I’m not sure I’ll have the chance to deal with them anytime soon, but if I don’t donate them before I move I’ll certainly do it from my new homebase in Texas.

Chatbug Karen was on the ball today and recognized my old dusty glasses in the photo clue for Tuesday Teaser this week. She’s won a blog review and will be entered in the gift card drawing for December. Congratulations, Karen, and mahalo to all of you who played. Join the fun again next week, please?

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

I tried to get you to rethink all of the answers for the Tuesday Teaser this week. I told you that there might be an answer that was close, but needed to be re-thought. Alas, none of you picked up on that and brought it home. You see at the top of this post a pry bar. It’s not a crow bar, though a crow bar can be used for prying. The very first answer to the Tuesday Teaser this week was so close, but so far off that it couldn’t be accepted as correct. A cell signal booster is an amplifier, but you wouldn’t mistake it for the ones used by your favorite rock band, right? In the same vein, a simple pry bar is not a crow bar. Sorry! That means we don’t have a winner this week. Do you hate it as much as I do when we start the month that way? We’ll make up for it next week, I hope.

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

Leave it to Jennifer to blow me out of the water by posting the correct answer almost as soon as the Tuesday Teaser was up. Clever gal, or at the very least one with a good eye for visual puzzles. She’s done this before and will undoubtedly do it again. Jennifer has won a linky-love post for her blog and will be entered in the November gift card drawing. Let’s see - how many linky loves do I owe her now. Eight? Ten? Whatever - it’s a whole slew of them and I will get caught up some day. Congrats to Jennifer and mahalo to all of you who played. I’ll try to make the next teaser tough enough to last you at least half a day. My mind is on cooking my solitary feast for Thursday (and on the Leptorexin I’ll probably need to recover from said feast,) but I’ll try to find some time between now and next Tuesday to come up with something to stump you with next week. Tuesday Teaser photo verification

Your guesses for my Tuesday Teaser once again created a dilemma for me. An early guess of “door knob” was so very close, but the photo snippet is of a particular part of a door knob set, so I had to hold out for a more specific answer. Sure enough, Lee wandered in and knew it was a bolt. She posited “dead bolt,” which is not the precise answer. Here’s the thing, though: I used the squared off side of the “bolt” in the photo snippet, as opposed to the curved side. That’s identical in a regular door knob and a dead bolt, so Lee is our winner this week. Congrats to you, Lee, and mahalo to everyone who played!

Back to the grind. Each day I get a little closer to having the house ready to sell. Better get it done soon because I’m running out of money and will be fielding calls from commercial collection agencies if I don’t get into my new place soon and start making a living again!
