Let the good times roll!
Since we’re having a party today at skeet’s stuff I though it only right for me to provide suitably for my guests. The jukebox over in the corner is filled with awesome oldies, today’s top forties for you youngsters and my own favorite Hawaiian tunes. Champagne and sodas are on ice right over there beside the cooler full of sweet tea and trays of sweet and savory snacks. Let it never be said that skeet doesn’t know how to throw a party!

Since some of you don’t know each other I’ve selected some party games that will allow us to mix and mingle. Our ice breaker is craps, where a roll of the dice can make or break you. I’m not familiar enough with the game to be in charge, so my co-host will be running the table for you. Who else but my lovely son, who has set aside his casino job to volunteer his services today?
I know you’ll be wanting to know how I came to have such a professional-looking game setup in my own home. Knowing that this auspicous day was approaching I went online at Executive Gaming Monthy and checked out their game of the month club. My package included everything you see here, and can be upgraded with additional fetures if I want to get a little fancier.

Let’s move on now to table number two where my lovely co-hostess (otherwise known as “the son’s girlfriend”) will provide a professional touch to our game of roulette. Yes, she is now also a casino professional and the two of them sometimes even get to work side by side. Besides their in-house jobs, they both do weekend gigs at charity casino nights, so they’re on top of keeping it real when it comes to game-playing. I know that they appreciate it that I’ve provided them with evertyhing they needed to maintain their professional images as they entertain you all! Not that either of them is even a little vain about being pros in such an exciting industry but … well … you know! Young people do like to keep up appearances!
I hope you’ve all enjoyed our little celebratory gathering. The champagne has gone flat and the snacks are all gone, so I guess it’s time to call it a night. Don’t forget to pick up your winnings at the door, and thank you for stopping by. Look for more skeet-style parties in the near future!
Seriously, folks, fantasy cyber-parties are a lot of fun, but how much more exciting would it be to provide my son and his girlfried all of the trappings for their real-world monthly game nights? How impressed would their friends be if, next time they hosted, they were able to provide such a party-perfect set up? They’ve got a two-year anniversary coming up soon. I’m the mom. How do you think I should commemorate their special day?
Thanks to Executive Gaming Monthly for sponsoring this post and giving me to opportunity to enhance my reputation as the perfect gift-giver and cyber-party hostess!

Do you have audio on your blog?
I want to install an audio player on my blog. I’d like to make some of my favorite local music available to those who would like to listen to it when they visit. I will need to be able to load it with music from my own CD collection (after I figure out how to get that into my computer) and have a menu so that my readers can select what they want to hear. I need suggestions for a player that will install easily (keeping in mind that I’m a complete doofus with these things) and that would be user-friendly for whoever drops by. Searching for audio players online isn’t helping me much because I don’t know whose testimonials to believe. I trust the opions of my regular readers, so I’d really appreciate some feedback from those of you who know these things.
Oh, and I guess the quesiton I should be asking first is whether it’s legal to put selections from my own CDs out there. I’d hate to have to buy music downloads online for things I already own, but I’m not interested in infringing on anyone’s copyrighted material either. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Mahalo!

Make it a Blockbuster night!
What do you watch on the nights when American Idol isn’t on? Maybe it’s some other must-see show, but you know what I mean. There’s just not that much great programming on TV these days and I’m betting that you often find youself with nothing to watch just like I do. One can only watch just so many reruns of Law and Order before the thought occurs that there’s got to be something better somewhere. Where I’m turning, more and more frequently, is to movies on DVDs. I’ve got a nice home collection, but the same problem arises. How many times can you watch the same show? I was a regular at the local mom & pop video rental place for a while, but, sheesh, that got expensive. Well, that problem has been solved! Blockbuster Online can bring a world of entertainment to the mailbox. It’s an easy and convenient way to get 3 movies at a time or all the dvds you want! Sure beats watching reruns, and it’s affordable, too.

I love that Blockbuster has unlimited rental with no late fees! How many times have you rented a movie and not had the chance to watch it before you had to return it? Stuff happens. Life gets in the way. Money wasted and you’ve missed a good show that you really wanted to watch. Because you get unlimited rentals with this plan, you’ll be able to watch more movies when life doesn’t get in the way. No more limiting yourself to five movies a month or whatever your budget was allowing, because you can get all the movies you want for a low monthly fee. I like that. If I only have time for three movies one week, but the next I have fewer committments eating up my personal time, I’m covered! The special signup offer going on right now gets you your first month for only $9.99, and you’ll only pay $17.99 a month after that. That’s sweet! If you’re getting just four DVDs a week, it works out to less than a dollar apiece. And with Blockbuster offering over 60,000 titles to choose from, you know you’ll always be able to find something you’ve really been wanting to watch.
There’s a Blockbuster about two miles from my house. They’re everywhere, so you’ve probably got one nearby, too. Through Blockbuster DVD Subscriptions Rentals you can order movies online and get them through the mail, but return them to store if that’s what’s most convenient. Postage is paid both ways, so pick whatever works best for you. They’ll give you a free in-store coupon every month, too, so you’ll never have an excuse to get caught without something great to watch.
What’s the catch? The offer is only available online. That’s it! Not much of a catch at all, is it? Oh, and the special offer of only $9.99 for the first month? That’s time-limited, so you’ll need to take advantage of it soon. If you love movies (and who doesn’t?) this is too good to let pass, so click on over and get started.
Blockbuster sponsored this opportunity, but you knew that, right?
