Tuesday Teaser photo verification

Alas, there is no Tuesday Teaser winner this week. As in times past, I thought there was a possibility that the photo snippet I used was too easy and that someone would provide the correct answer right away. I was wrong. This isn’t the first time that has happened and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Paul is selling some of his pocket knives in the garage sale and I thought they made for an interesting picture and an interesting puzzle.
We’ll try again next week and as long as you keep coming around to play the little game. I’ll see you then!

Tuesday Teaser for January 13, 2009

Sorry for the delay, folks. Moving and remodeling & houseguest & all that stuff, ya know? Here it is, almost midnight, but still Tuesday, so we won’t have to rename our weekly fun.
Can you identify the item depicted above? Take your best guess and post it in the comments below. If your guess wins, you’ll get a nifty prize. Here’s how it works:
1. Write a comment giving your guess as to what the item is. Be as specific as you can. For instance, “lighting” would be too general as an answer if you needed to identify a lava lamp. Sometimes the brand will need to be specific, as when you identified the Enregizer Bunny and auto company logos. Guess as many times as you want, but put each answer in a separate comment, please!
2. First person to identify the item wins. If more than one person provides the correct answer, time and date stamp will determine who was first.
3. The author of this blog will be the sole judge as to what constitutes a correct answer. Sorry - no hints will be given. I will attempt to respond to your answers at least every few hours, but I am not continuously at the keyboard so please be patient.
4. The contest will end in forty-eight hours, whether or not a correct guess has been submitted.
5. Skeet’s Stuff is a do-follow blog, so you get some link value just for commenting.
What will you win?
1. The author of this blog will write a LINKY LOVE POST (review) about the winner’s blog (commercial sites ineligible.) The LLP will contain the url for your blog plus at least two deep links and will be posted here on Skeet’s Stuff, a PR4 PR2 PR0 (bah google!) Ha! PR3 blog Hmmmm! PR2 again. Skeet writes good reviews.
2. The weekly winners will be entered into a monthly drawing for a $10.00 gift card from Starbucks or Amazon or a ten dollar payment through PayPal.
3. Drawing for the monthly prize will be held on or around the beginning of next month and will include all weekly winners for the month. There are four Tuesdays in January, thus the maximum number of people who will be eligble is four.
Comments submitted with commercial links will be deleted. If you would like to market your product, service or website through skeet’s stuff I’ll be happy to discuss your needs and my prices. Please submit your request via email.

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

Sorry for the delay, folks! Cable has been out.
Ah, Lee, Lee, Lee! Shut me down again before I had a chance to wake up on Tuesday morning! It seems she’s as well acquainted with hanging file folders as I am - as most of you seem to be, actually! Lee is hereby declared the first Tuesday Teaser for 2009. She’ll be entered into the monthly drawing for a prize with a little cash value. I don’t give away enough to pay for your Vegas vacations mind you, but the monthly prize always has a value of at least $10.00, which I’m sure anyone can use in today’s brutal economy.
As my first weekly winner of 2009, Lee is being offered an option. She may select a blog review (the usual weekly prize) or a full version game, Hidden Expedition Titanic, from Big Fish. It’s one of my favorites and one of the first hidden object games I played at Big Fish, so it’s special to me and might end up being a favorite for Lee and her family, too. Your choice, Lee, so just let me know which prize you prefer.
Now, listen up players! I’ve reviewed a lot of hidden object games on skeet’s stuff and I own a lot of Big Fish games myself. When they gave me a game to give away it got me to thinking that maybe some of you enjoy them as much as I do. Assuming that to be true, I’ll be offering my monthly winners an expanded choice of prizes:
A $10.00 gift card from Amazon or Starbucks
$10.00 in cash through PayPay
OR
A Big Fish Game valued at up to $20.00.
How do you feel about that? Will you stick with the tried and true prizes, or will you be playing twice as hard so you can win a Big Fish Game? Your feedback is most welcome!

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

You probably only use them during the warm summer months, but mosquito coils are a year-round fact of life in Hawaii. I’ve burned at least one a day for the last few weeks since the heavy winter rains started. I try to be diligent about eliminating standing water that will provide them a place to breed. Yesterday I was cleaning my side yard and discovered a flower pot that wasn’t self-draining and had several inches of stagnant water filled with little swimmers in it. Yikes! No wonder I get swarmed every time I go out of doors!
Our last Tuesday Teaser of 2008 ended with no winner, alas! I’ll be conducting a drawing for last monthly winner of the year soon, so watch for that post. Mahalo to each of you who has played my little game. I’ve enjoyed your company throughout this last year and look forward to continuing to tease you in the new year. See ya soon!

A lot of visitors but only one guess for the Tuesday Teaser this week. Did you all know that Lee had gotten it right and your answers would be superfluous? Congrats to Lee, who has won a blog review and will be entered in the monthly drawing for a gift card.
Mahalo to all of you who stopped by. I hope you all have a happy holiday and I hope to see you all back here next week!

Tuesday Teaser gift card winner for November

I have some new neighbors living across the street. One of them is an old/new neighbor. She was a small child who lived behind me when I first came to the island. She’s a grown twenty-something now and I saw her outside a while ago with two junior members of the household (I think they are her niece and nephew.) That seemed like a perfect opportunity for a prize drawing!

Jadalynn and Jordan were a little suspicious of me at first, but more than willing to help me out since they had family members standing nearby.

Jadalynn held the magic mug while Jordan drew out the winning name. They both took the responsibility quite seriously.

Jadalynn beamed and Jordan almost let a smile loose when their duty was done. Congratulations to Deanna of Big Sky Girls She’s won a $10.00 gift card from Starbucks or Amazon, or a cash payment from PayPal. Congrats again to all of the November winners and mahalo to all of you for playing Tuesday Teaser!

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

Sorry for the delay in providing the Tuesday Teaser answer, folks. Paul pulled the stove out into the middle of the kitchen floor right before he left yesterday. I scrubbed the walls, waited for them to dry, then did two coats of paint. While I was waiting for the walls to dry I scrubbed the sides of the stove, dusted the cobwebs off of the back and pulled out some mousy nesting stuff from the void at the bottom of the back. (The stove fits so tightly into its space that the oven door makes marks on the wall when I open it, so the blasted thing hasn’t been moved since it was installed the week that I bought the house almost fifteen years ago. Nasty back there!) When the walls were dry I ripped out the three layers of old flooring, cleaned up the mess and installed the new floor. It was about ten last night when I finished. I came back here to the office to do a sponsored post that was due before midnight and promptly fell asleep in my desk chair! I woke up around two this morning and did the post, but didn’t even think about the Tuesday Teaser.
I think many of our regular players are busy with shopping and baking and all the family busy-ness of the holidays because we didn’t get many entries to the contest this week. None of them were right. Several of you thought the photo snippet depicted some kind of bottle, but that’s as close as anyone got. Paul doesn’t have a place to hook up a computer these days so he gave me all of his Coke bottle caps and asked me to enter them in the MyRewards program for him. You’re only allowed to enter ten a day and I’ve forgotten to do it for the last several days, so I’ve still got a whole slew of them to enter. I thought they made an interesting picture and sort of thought someone would guess right away, but I never really know how you’ll react to my little photo clues. No winner this week. Make sure you check back next week and perhaps we’ll have a meeting of the minds!
