Tuesday Teaser photo verification

I started to install the new ceiling fan in the dining area a few days ago, then lost my nerve. I had the power off, so I wasn’t afraid of being electrocuted while doing the installation. I was afraid of installing it wrong and electrocuting myself or shorting out all the wiring in the house the first time I turned it on. Much too stressful for me, so I waited and let Paul install it yesterday. I have two more just like it - they were supposed to be for the three bedrooms in my home. There’s no wiring in the bedroom ceilings. When I got quotes for it I discovered that the house would need to be rewired before any new circuits are added and that the price would be quite hefty, so I decided to live without ceiling fans in the bedrooms. I’ll take the other two and the very large one that was originally intended for the dining room with me when I move. Hopefully my new home will have wiring in place for me to have ceiling fans in every room.

Congratulations to Megan, who once again beat the rest of you to the punch by being the first to solve the puzzle. She’s won a linky-love review of her blog - I’m so far behind I think I owe her three now. I WILL get caught up - just not sure when! Megan will also be entered into the monthly drawing for a ten dollar gift card (or cold, hard cash!)

Tuesday Teaser gift card winner for October

We’ve run out of Tuesdays for October, so all of the weekly winners of Tuesday Teaser have been declared. I’ve been late with the monthly prize drawing a few times lately and don’t want to let that become routine, so I decided to do the drawing today, on the last day of the month. It’s been my habit to let someone assist me each month so that y’all could know I was being honest and not favoring anyone. I’ve decided to dispense with that this month. Do y’all trust me? Should I have conducted an opinion poll or perhaps have gotten insurance quotes to cover my risk for such a drastic change? I hope I’ve judged your temperament correctly and that you’ll allow me this little indulgence, this month only.

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

I suspect that this is one of those occasions when several of you will be kicking yourself for not seeing the solution to my little puzzle. Most of you “got it” that it was the inside of something, and several of you even realized it was the inside of a drawer, but no one made that further leap to identify it as the inside of a file cabinet drawer. Sadly, we once again have no winner, so there’s one less name to go into the magic mug for the monthly prize drawing. You’ve missed your chance at the nest egg that could have set you up for a career in futures trading, but don’t despair. You’ll have another shot at it next week when we play Tuesday Teaser again!

I thought for sure that my recent activities would direct your guesses this week and that the puzzle would be solved quickly by a regular reader. Alas, our forty-eight hours has passed with no correct answer, so here ya go. It’s my handy-dandy new scraper/cutter, fresh from the package. It sure looked pretty a few days ago before it got spattered with paint and battered about a bit, don’t you think?

Tuesday Teaser photo verification

My apologies for once again neglecting you all. I’ve been without power in my office all day. Right about the time the lights (and my cable modem) went off, Megan was posting the correct answer to the Tuesday Teaser once again. Congrats to Megan for knowing a hose-end sprayer when she sees one, and mahalo to all of you who played.

My buddy Paul came over this afternoon to see if he could get my office circuit breaker to flip back to “on” and stay there. I love Paul dearly, but he’s a hopeless alchoholic and was in bad shape when he arrived. He managed to pull the TV cable box down on his head while checkign the plug below the office work table. He was feeling no pain and his baseball cap kept him from getting a scalp cut, so that wasn’t a major problem (assuming that he box still works - haven’t checked it yet.) He argued with me when I brought him his shoes to wear while he was checking the breakers, but it’s a good thing he put them on anyway. He gave himself a serious jolt while testing circuits and I sent him home. Luckily, my friend Abe was able to come over this evening (just as House was coming on, darn it!) and he found that Paul had been testing the wrong circuit. It took him about a minute to have me up and running again. Ah, it’s good to have friends! I had called Randy (the real electrician) but he wasn’t going to be able to squeeze me in until (maybe) sometime late tomorrow. He would have charged me an arm and a leg just for walking in the door, so I’m super, extra grateful for both Paul and Abe tonight (okay - Abe a little more than Paul!)
